It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Villa Angela-St. Joseph ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Chagrin Falls Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since April 10th.

The team relied heavily on Chase Polunus, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon McBride, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
