Softball Recap: Shorecrest Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Shorecrest put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past the Sehome Mariners 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Scots have posted since April 9, 2024.

Shorecrest got a massive performance out of Lyla Ann Taing, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Riu Hanrahan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Shorecrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .538 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Shorecrest's record is now 3-0. As for Sehome, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shorecrest will challenge Mountlake Terrace at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give Shorecrest their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Sehome, they will take on Squalicum at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
