Baseball Recap: Caesar Rodney Find Success

While Caesar Rodney's win against Laurel wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Riders narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Riders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Evan Fowler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Fowler was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teegan Monroney, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kurt Helsdon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Caesar Rodney's record is now 13-3. As for Laurel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
