Baseball Recap: Martha's Vineyard Regional Triumphs

Martha's Vineyard Regional's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sandwich Blue Knights 4-3. This was payback for the Vineyarders, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Eli Bryant made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Joe Mediros was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season.

The win got Martha's Vineyard Regional back to even at 2-2. As for Sandwich, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Martha's Vineyard Regional will host Nauset Regional at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Sandwich, they will head out on the road to face off against Falmouth at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Clippers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Blue Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
