Soccer Game Preview: FAU High vs. Somerset Academy - Canyons

The FAU High Owls will take on the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

FAU High is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Glades Central onto the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Given the Owls' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Raiders are ranked 537th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy - Canyons entered their tilt with Park Vista on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over the Cobras. It was an even better day for Noelle Simmons as she scored three goals for her team.

Somerset Academy - Canyons' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for FAU High, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7-1 record this season.

FAU High suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Somerset Academy - Canyons when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can FAU High avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
