Softball Recap: Marysville Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Marysville waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Abilene Cowboys a 15-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lindsey Dressman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Aubrey Dressman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Richelle Mick was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Marysville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Marysville pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Abilene: the pair will be back at it again later today.
