Basketball Recap: Southeast Halifax Takes a Loss

Southeast Halifax was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Weldon Chargers, falling 63-38. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 73-50.

Despite the defeat, Southeast Halifax saw an underclassman step up: sophomore O'Tavion Arrington posted nine points and four steals. Arrington has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Woodrow Harper was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Southeast Halifax's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Weldon, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Southeast Halifax will square off against Warren County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weldon has already played their next match (against Rocky Mount Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
