Basketball Recap: Fairview Falls Despite Big Games from Toray Davis and Spencer Brown

Fairview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 67-60 to the Frederick Golden Eagles.

Fairview's loss came despite strong showings from Spencer Brown and Toray Davis. Brown went 10-for-19 en route to 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Davis went 8-for-14 on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Ochs, who posted three points.

Olly Justice was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 24 points for Frederick. With that strong performance, Justice is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Kole Davis, who scored nine points.

Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Frederick, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Fairview will host Broomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Broomfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Fairview likes a good challenge. As for Frederick, they will head out on the road to challenge Longmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
