Basketball Recap: Charlotte Latin's Run of Nine Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Charlotte Latin unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Stuart W. Cramer Storm 39-33.

When it comes to explaining why Charlotte Latin lost, don't look at Lanie Edwards. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points and seven rebounds. Edwards is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Alex Bean was another key player, putting up six points.

Oshauna Holland continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Stuart W. Cramer, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Holland has scored at least a third of Stuart W. Cramer's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Humphrey, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Charlotte Latin's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Stuart W. Cramer, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Charlotte Latin will head out to face off against Hammond at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Charlotte Latin is facing Hammond at the right time seeing as Hammond is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they and Hough will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Hough knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Stuart W. Cramer likes a good challenge.
