Basketball Recap: King George Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Nick Smoot and Cooper Sobota

King George was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 61-43 bruising from the Caroline Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-60 last Monday.

Cooper Sobota and Nick Smoot certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Sobota posted six points and 13 boards, while Smoot went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Smoot a new career-high in points.

King George's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Caroline, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

King George didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-32 defeat against Mountain View on the 5th. As for Caroline, they have also already played their next contest, a 75-42 victory against Chancellor on the 7th.
