With a playoff win on the line, Jeffersonville rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Southwestern Rebels as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row.
James Medina had a dynamite game, getting 12 aces and one assist. Those 12 aces gave him a new career-high. Malachi Crowder was another key player, getting seven digs and three aces.
They weren't the only good server: Jeffersonville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive games.
Jeffersonville's win bumped their record up to 27-5. As for Southwestern, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
Coming up, Jeffersonville will face off against Madison at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Cubs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. Southwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
