After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kankakee Valley, Griffith was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Washington Township Senators 4-3. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Senators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Griffith saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Jimenez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Another was Angelo Gallo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

The win got Griffith back to even at 11-11. As for Washington Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8-1 record this season.

Griffith will look to defend their home field on Friday against Calumet Christian at 4:30 p.m. As for Washington Township, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chesterton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Senators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
