Baseball Game Preview: Brown County Eagles vs. South Putnam Eagles

Brown County and South Putnam are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. Brown County will host South Putnam at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 17 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Brown County and three for South Putnam.

Brown County fell victim to West Vigo and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 10-0.

Brown County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Woolems, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Woolems has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, South Putnam lost 14-7 to Riverton Parke on Friday.

Wyatt Mullin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Tincher, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Brown County's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for South Putnam, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Brown County skirted past South Putnam 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Does Brown County have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Putnam turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
