Softball Recap: Starks' Run of Seven Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of seven wins, Starks's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 15-2 to the DeQuincy Tigers. The Panthers were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Tigers' pitchers proved too tough.

Starks' loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for DeQuincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Starks will face off against South Cameron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Cameron has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.75 runs per game on average), something Starks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for DeQuincy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as DeQuincy Tigers challenge Starks Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
