Soccer Recap: Loyola Academy Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Loyola Academy's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the Lyons Lions by a score of 3-1. Given Loyola Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Lyons are ranked 104th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loyola Academy pushed their record up to 8-4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for Lyons, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6-1.

Coincidentally, Loyola Academy and Lyons will both be playing Bolingbrook the next time they take the pitch. The Ramblers will head out to face the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
