Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Eastern Hancock

Eastern Hancock had won two straight games and McKenzie Koch did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Eastern Hancock Royals were the clear victor by a 53-32 margin over the Union County Patriots thanks in part to Koch, who posted 31 points along with eight boards and four steals. Her evening made it 17 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Meyer, who had six points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave her a new career-high.

Eastern Hancock pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.7 points. As for Union County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Hancock will welcome New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Hancock is facing New Castle at the right time seeing as New Castle is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Union County, they will host Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Union County will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Randolph Southern will have lost three straight heading into Wednesday's matchup.
