Basketball Recap: Mount Pleasant Gets the Win

While Mount Pleasant didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. It was close, but on Fridaythey capped 2024 with a 41-39 victory over the North Rowan Cavaliers.

Defeat or not, North Rowan got some senior leadership from Krisstyle Stockton and Dasia Elder. Stockton posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Elder put up 13 points along with three steals and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Za'Kiya Oglesby-Peck, who had five points and six rebounds.

Mount Pleasant's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for North Rowan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Mount Pleasant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-22 victory against Gray Stone Day on the 7th. As for North Rowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-27 win against Carson on the 3rd.
