Softball Game Preview: Central Private Redhawks vs. St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons

The Central Private Redhawks will take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Central Private's favor as the squad sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. Thomas Aquinas has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Central Private is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 17, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against Zachary, falling 13-5.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas lost 20-2 to Northlake Christian on Wednesday.

St. Thomas Aquinas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Inzinna, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Inzinna hit this season. Another was Ava Berthelot, who scored a run and stole two bases.

St. Thomas Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Central Private, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Central Private was able to grind out a solid win over St. Thomas Aquinas when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-3. Will Central Private repeat their success, or does St. Thomas Aquinas has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
