Volleyball Recap: Columbia Wildcats vs. Bishop Kelly Knights
If Columbia was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Nampa on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Bishop Kelly Knights on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
While Columbia ultimately came up short, they really made Bishop Kelly work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 25-20.
Camila Salinas paced Columbia's offense, picking up 17 kills. Salinas got some help from Allison Pruett and her 26 assists. Salinas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Bishop Kelly found their leader in sophomore Bella Bail, who had eight digs and two aces.
Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Bishop Kelly, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 8-9 record.
Coincidentally, Columbia and Bishop Kelly will both be playing Vallivue the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
