Soccer Game Preview: Granger vs. West Jordan

The Granger Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the West Jordan Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Granger has six straight wins, West Jordan has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Granger barely beat Taylorsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lancers never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Granger, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, West Jordan fell victim to Cyprus and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 1-0.

Granger pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four matches. As for West Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Granger took their win against West Jordan when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
