Preview: Montgomery Tigers vs. Westminster Christian Academy
The Montgomery Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westminster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Montgomery is ranked 255th, while Westminster Christian Academy is ranked 275th).
Montgomery fell victim to St. Mary's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 49-0 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Montgomery's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Westminster Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy by a score of 28-18.
David Beazley got back to being his usual excellent self, as he picked up 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Westminster Christian Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Jackson Davis and Tyler Bolding who racked up four sacks between them.
Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2.
Montgomery took a serious blow against Westminster Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 37-8. Will Montgomery have more luck at home instead of on the road?
