Baseball Recap: Fountain Valley Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fountain Valley walked away with it. They never let the Trabuco Hills Mustangs get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. The Barons not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 9-1).

Josh Grack made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mikey Patterson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Drake Robinson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Fountain Valley and bumps their season record up to 17-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Trabuco Hills, they moved to 21-8-1 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Fountain Valley nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
