Softball Recap: Snohomish Gets the Win

Snohomish proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Everett Seagulls 4-3. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Seagulls recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Abby Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Snohomish's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rhys Doyle, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Snohomish's record now sits at 15-2. As for Everett, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Snohomish will challenge rival Marysville-Pilchuck at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Everett is set to square off against their familiar foe Stanwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
