West Bladen has gone 9-1 against West Columbus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Both will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Tuesday, West Bladen had to suffer through a 68-20 loss at the hands of St. Pauls. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, West Columbus played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 57-35 to South Columbus. The Vikings have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

West Bladen will have to keep a close watch on Demya Powell and Kimya Lennon, a pair of players who had a big impact on West Columbus' prior game. Powell dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards, while Lennon posted five points and four steals. Lennon has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Even though they lost, West Columbus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

West Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for West Bladen, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything went West Bladen's way against West Columbus in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as West Bladen made off with a 59-33 victory. In that game, West Bladen amassed a halftime lead of 33-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
