Softball Recap: Alvin Comes Up Short

Alvin fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Manvel on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 4-2. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mavericks earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

Alvin's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12-1. As for Manvel, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10.

Coincidentally, Alvin and Manvel will both be playing Dawson the next time they take the field. The Yellowjackets will head out to face the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Mavericks will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
