While Heartland Christian's win against Mathews wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since September 23, 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Heartland Christian who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 19-25, 25-14, 18-25, 15-9.

When it comes to explaining why Mathews lost, don't look at JOSSLYN COLES. Despite the final result, she had 33 digs.

The victory got Heartland Christian back to even at 1-1.
