Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. St. John Paul II Panthers

The Lincoln Trojans will face off against the St. John Paul II Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John Paul II took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln, who comes in off a win.

Lincoln will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Taylor County on Thursday. Lincoln walked away with an 11-7 win over Taylor County. The game was the first time the Trojans have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since February 16, 2019.

The team relied heavily on Lanie Woodson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alli Ryan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, St. John Paul II wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-6), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

D'NAE MOSSE made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.

Lincoln's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for St. John Paul II, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
