Baseball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Ayersville Pilots

The Patrick Henry Patriots will take on the Ayersville Pilots in a tournament on Friday.

On Tuesday, Patrick Henry didn't have quite enough to beat North Baltimore and fell 5-4.

Patrick Henry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Schwab, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Jaden Bishop also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Ayersville entered their tilt with North Central on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 1-0 shutout.

Ayersville's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Patrick Henry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Patrick Henry was able to grind out a solid victory over Ayersville in their previous meeting back in April, winning 5-2. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
