Recap: Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats vs. Refugio Bobcats
The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats entered their tilt with the Refugio Bobcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Skidmore-Tynan narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Refugio 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Skidmore-Tynan has posted yet this season.
Leading Skidmore-Tynan to victory were Cole Rivers and Bennett Martinez. Rivers scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Martinez scored 19 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Rivers hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Gonzalez, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Skidmore-Tynan's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Refugio, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, Skidmore-Tynan and Refugio will both be playing Woodsboro the next time they take the court. Refugio will head out to face Woodsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Skidmore-Tynan will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
