Byron came tearing into Monday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Lourdes Eagles by a score of 77-68. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Eagles are ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Byron's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points over those games. As for Lourdes, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
