Recap: Carbon Dinos vs. Juab Wasps
The Carbon Dinos came tearing into Tuesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Juab 60-46. Carbon pushed the score to 48-27 by the end of the third, a deficit Juab cut but never quite recovered from.
Carbon had a senior duo take command as Amiah Timothy scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals and Madison Orth scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Orth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylan Sorenson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Several Wasps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucy Richards, who scored 14 points. Ava Cuff was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Carbon's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. As for Juab, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Carbon will be playing in front of their home fans against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Delta has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Juab, they will head out on the road to challenge North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Sanpete is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
