Soccer Game Preview: Tazewell vs. Marion

Tazewell is 1-8-1 against Marion since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home pitch against the Scarlet Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. Tazewell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.

Tazewell will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Virginia High, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs blew past the Bearcats 4-1 on Tuesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Tazewell hit Virginia High with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Justin Thomas (2), Zephyr Dagout, and Jake Vogel.

Meanwhile, Marion had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Pioneers.

Tazewell's win bumped their record up to 10-3-2. As for Marion, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Tazewell skirted past Marion 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scarlet Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
