Basketball Recap: Franklin Pierce Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Franklin Pierce walked away with it. They came out on top against the West Valley Eagles by a score of 59-50 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Javon Barbee was his usual excellent self, going 11-for-24 en route to 29 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Franklin Pierce's points. Lamel Brim was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Franklin Pierce's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for West Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5.

Looking ahead, Franklin Pierce won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bremerton at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bremerton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. West Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
