Football Recap: Yuma Outlaws vs. Brush Beetdiggers
Yuma came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Brush Beetdiggers, falling 36-7. The Outlaws were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beetdiggers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Iann Duran threw for 117 yards and one TD. Stevie Seward was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards.
Leading Brush to victory were Ritchie Bruno and Eric Rico. Bruno rushed for 200 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, while Rico rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Bruno's longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Having lost for the first time this season, Yuma fell to 3-1. As for Brush, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Yuma and Brush will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Outlaws are set to square off against their familiar foe Burlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Brush will take on rival Arvada at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
