Softball Recap: Garber Comes Up Short

Garber was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mt. Pleasant Oilers. That's two games in a row now that the Dukes have lost by just one run.

Ava Wagner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Paige Mendyk also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Garber now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Mt. Pleasant, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

While Garber had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
