Softball Recap: Hillcrest Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hillcrest posted their closest victory since April 22, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past the Bear Lake Bears 10-9. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Skylynn Salazar Bell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Terry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Hillcrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Bear Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest is headed away from home for the first time to square off against West Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bear Lake, they will challenge West Side at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
