Basketball Recap: Braileigh Threadgill Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Valliant

Wright City won the last time they faced Valliant and things went their way on Friday too. The stars were shining brightly for the Wright City Lumberjax in a 45-31 victory over the Valliant Bulldogs.

Wright City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braileigh Threadgill out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Threadgill has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Grace Vance, who posted four points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Wright City's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Valliant, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wright City will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Smithville at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Smithville will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Wright City surely won't give up without a fight. Valliant and Idabel will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th.
