Softball Recap: Woodland Wins Going Away Against Hoquiam

Woodland gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on the Hoquiam Grizzlies with a sharp 14-8 win.

Brynn Skelton was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsleigh Utter, who went 2-for-5 with one home run.

Skelton wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Woodland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Woodland now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hoquiam, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Woodland will be playing in front of their home fans against Elma at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hoquiam, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Black Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
