Baseball Recap: Marian Catholic Wins Going Away Against Solorio

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Marian Catholic walked away with it. They blew past the Solorio Sun Warriors 10-3 on Thursday. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sun Warriors, too.

Nate Rhein looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jazarris Mackmore was incredible, firing off two triples, three runs, and two doubles while going 4-for-4. Marian Catholic is 4-2 when Mackmore posts two or more runs, but 10-20 otherwise.

The victory made it two in a row for Marian Catholic and bumps their season record up to 14-22. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Solorio, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Marian Catholic nor Solorio have any future games scheduled.
