Softball Recap: Cajon Makes It Six in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Cajon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the La Serna Lancers with a sharp 12-5 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cajon got a massive performance out of Rylee Torres, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Nadine Juarez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cajon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Cajon pushed their record up to 9-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for La Serna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cajon will welcome Yucaipa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Cowboys surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Serna, they will be playing at home against Santa Fe at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.05 runs per game on average), something the Lancers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
