Baseball Game Preview: Terrell Tigers vs. Ennis Lions

For the second straight game, Terrell will face off against Ennis. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Terrell Tigers face off against Ennis Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Terrell has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 24.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Terrell's offense. They lost 11-0 to Ennis on Tuesday.

For Ennis' part, Keno Castillo made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Castillo was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Ennis' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-8-2 when he doesn't).

Castillo wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ennis is undefeated when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 6-8-2 otherwise. Caleb Beauchamp was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Ennis is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Terrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
