Softball Recap: Conestoga Valley Comes Up Short

If Conestoga Valley was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Ephrata on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buckskins came up short against the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers on Wednesday, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on April 14th.

Conestoga Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Rhoads, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Conestoga Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Conestoga Valley is taking a road trip to face off against Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they will square off against Manheim Township at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
