Volleyball Recap: Damien Takes a Loss

Damien was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upland Highlanders/Scots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-0, 0-25, 25-0.

Among those leading the charge was Nathaniel Stevens, who had 18 digs. He has been hot for a while, having posted 18 or more digs the last 11 times he's played. Benjamin Ong also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

Damien's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Upland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Damien has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Claremont on the 15th. As for Upland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Chino Hills on the 15th.
