Football Recap: Everett Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Everett, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Monroe Bearcats on Friday as they made off with a 42-21 win. Considering the Seagulls' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Monroe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Lachappelle Jr., who picked up 112 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Carson Cox also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.

Everett's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Monroe, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everett will challenge Shorewood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stormrays' defense has only allowed 8.8 points per game this season, so the Seagulls' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Monroe, they will take on Mountlake Terrace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
