Baseball Recap: Floydada Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Floydada's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Wellington Skyrockets on Friday. The Whirlwinds' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Floydada's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Wellington, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Floydada will square off against Clarendon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.94 runs per game on average), something the Whirlwinds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wellington, they will take on Lockney at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
