Baseball Preview: Sharpsville Blue Devils vs. Wilmington Greyhounds        
        
		
            The Sharpsville Blue Devils will square off against the Wilmington Greyhounds at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with three  losses in a row, Sharpsville  turned things around against Mohawk Area  on Friday. They skirted past the Warriors  11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Blue Devils have posted  since March 28th.
 Dom Malone made a splash no matter where he played. He  pitched two innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in March.

 In other batting news,  Lincoln Breit was  excellent,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run. Those  four  hits gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Dominic Tarnoci, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  RBI and one  run.
 Sharpsville  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 5.5  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 8.8.
 Meanwhile, Wilmington never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on Reynolds with a sharp  12-0 victory.
 Wilmington is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Sharpsville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
 Sharpsville was able to grind out a solid  win over Wilmington in their previous matchup  back in April, winning  10-6. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success,  or do  the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
