Softball Recap: Hoosic Valley Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hoosic Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Maple Hill Wildcats by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Lainey Bochette was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Bochette was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Ella Waldron was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Lucey, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Hoosic Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Maple Hill, their record now sits at 14-6.

As of now, neither Hoosic Valley nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
