Football Recap: Denton Falls to Lake Dallas in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Denton had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 35-14 to the Lake Dallas Falcons on Friday. The Broncos haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Denton lost, don't look at Terrance Lopez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 147 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Rodney Rayson, who gained 98 total yards.

Lake Dallas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cash Davis out in front who threw for 135 yards and one touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Dj Hicks did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards.

Denton has already played their next matchup, a 28-0 victory against Eastern Hills on the 5th. As for Lake Dallas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-10 defeat against Brewer on the 5th.
