Basketball Game Preview: Mammoth Huskies vs. North Valleys Panthers

The Mammoth Huskies will take on the North Valleys Panthers in a tournament on Thursday.

Mammoth is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 55 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Rosamond on Tuesday. They were dealt a 76-23 loss at the hands of the Roadrunners. The Huskies have struggled against the Roadrunners recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Asher Block, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Lackey, who put up five points.

Meanwhile, North Valleys waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They managed a 70-64 victory over the Grizzlies.

Mammoth better keep an eye on Joshua Collins. He was instrumental in North Valleys' win, going 10 of 17 on his way to 29 points. Collins' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Shackelford, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

North Valleys' win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Mammoth, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
