Softball Recap: Northwestern's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Northwestern lost against Southeastern Local back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 4-3. The loss put an end to the Warriors' undefeated start to the season.

Sophia Pamer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Julia Shaw made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northwestern fell to 2-1. As for Southeastern Local, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will head out to challenge Urbana at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Hillclimbers at the right time seeing as the Hillclimbers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Southeastern Local, they will square off against Greeneview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
